Sonya Farrell BSc(hons)

Sonya is an accredited UKCP Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor specialising in trauma and addiction over the past 12 years.  Experienced in using EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), past abuse, rape, phobias and addiction. She is also a member of BACP (The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy), EMDR UK & Ireland, HAP & EAGALA. Sonya has a small ‘Pets As Therapy’ dog called Foxy who can join the therapy session if required!

Sonya offers 1:1 counselling/psychotherapy including EMDR plus Clinical Supervision.

I began working in Adult Mental Health in 1992. I have worked extensively in the field of Severe & Enduring Adult Mental Health. My practice is relationship based, integrative & humanistic. I am experienced in the use of EMDR for the treatment of many psychological difficulties including Post Traumatic Stress. I also use EMDR for smoking cessation, addiction & chronic pain. Working in both an agency setting & in private practice, I have considerable experience with complex needs & with people who have difficulty engaging in therapeutic relationship. I am an accredited UKCP Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, also a member of BACP (The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) & EMDR UK & Ireland.
